Romantic Times (4.5/4.5 stars):

An ancient feud and a serial killer give demon slayer Victory Vaughn more than a little trouble in the third installment of Holzner’s vivid and butt-kicking Deadtown series. Holzner uses Welsh mythology and an intriguing twist on vampires to place Vicky and her friends smack in the middle of a very nasty mess. Make sure you reserve a place for Holzner’s novels on your bookshelf.

Bite Club:

The latest and in my opinion the greatest Deadtown novel . . . If you haven’t started this series then you are missing out on one of the most original urban fantasy settings to date.

Parkersburg News and Sentinel:

I really enjoy this series about an alternate version of Boston where the “bad side of town” is actually full of paranormal creatures and the woman who makes her living among them. It’s got great mystery, scary opponents and even a great romance between Vicky and her werewolf boyfriend Kane. I hope there’s more to come for Vicky!

All Things Urban Fantasy:

[Nancy Holzner] has an eye for daily details that add wonderful depth to her world, and preternatural elements aside, I can’t resist the scarily plausible political realities of Deadtown.

Whatchamacallit Reviews (9/10):

Are you a fan of chicks kicking ass?

Are you a fan of teenage zombies, with ironic senses of humor?

What about a sword wielding shape shifter who cuts down demons?

Well if the answer to these questions is yes, then you’re in luck because Nancy Holzner’s third Deadtown novel, Bloodstone, is out in stores now.

[. . .]

The series is fun and addictive and I personally am always waiting for the next book in the series to come out.

Romancing the Book:

Bloodstone is an excellent addition to the Deadtown series. I think the world the author has created is unique and deeply interesting. I positively enjoy all the paranormal elements created in this series. The writing is action packed, fast paced and easily read. I had a hard time putting this down once I started it and was disappointed when I finished because I wanted it to keep going and going.

Sara’s Urban Fantasy Blog:

This was another fantastic addition to one of my favorite Urban Fantasy series. I can’t wait for book four . . .  I could not put this novel down . . . Vicky is one of my favorite kick-ass Urban Fantasy heroines. This novel forced her to be a bit more vulnerable than previous novels, and it was very interesting to see how she dealt with these circumstances.

The Literate Kitty:

Bloodstone is another highly-satisfying tale in what has proven to be a compelling and intelligent series, and it may be my favorite “Deadtown” story yet, actually. Holzner continues to build on her small but strong cast of main characters, providing each of them a little more depth with every book, as well as offering up some tantalizing new characters in minor roles . . . By turns funny, sarcastic, anxious, angry, sad, and even, occasionally, a bit wistful, Vicky and company are well worth spending quality time with, always.

BLOODSTONE, the third in author Nancy Holzner’s Deadtown series, is a fun and fabulous paranormal romp from the very first page. And the action never stops long enough for you to catch your breath. (As if you’d want to.)

That’s What I’m Talking About:

All-in-all a fantastic book – one that I couldn’t put down. A bit reminiscent of Buffy and Angel, with a voice all its own, the Deadtown series is one to add to your must read list!
