Night Owl Reviews has given Deadtown 4.5 stars, writing “pure excitement is packed in to the 326 pages that is Deadtown.”
The reviewer goes on to add:
I found Deadtown to be a fast read with exciting, witty characters, a great plot and with plenty of action. Holzner has created a heroine worthy of fans. For fans of Urban Fantasy, Deadtown will gladly fulfill your taste buds for the genre. I, for one, can’t wait until the sequel comes out. I want to know what’s in store for Vicky, Alexander Kane (her werewolf/civil rights lawyer) and Tina, the zombie. Frankly, I need more of Deadtown.

This morning I spent an hour chatting with Naomi Giroux on I Just Finished’s “Coffee with an Author” on Blog Talk Radio. We talked about Deadtown, finding time to write, and the differences between writing fiction and nonfiction. It was fun, and for me the hour flew by. You can listen in on our conversation here.
After kind of a tough week, it was nice to wake up this morning and find an enthusiastic review of Deadtown, written by Paula Weston, at Other Worlds. Here’s part of what Paula had to say:
Deadtown has enough action, wit and snappy dialogue to stand out from the crowd and Holzner has created a world that’s cleverly and logically constructed, complete with politics and social agendas.
At least my weekend is off to a good start! 😀

I don’t know about you, but I could use a laugh today. So here’s a Norwegian video (with English subtitles) about the difficulty of adjusting to new technology. Enjoy!
But I’ve got something even better to smile about, something that’s had me grinning for years and years: It’s my wonderful daughter’s birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAMSEN!!!!
Over the past month, I’ve been doing a lot of promo for Deadtown, and I’ll admit that—while fun—all those interviews, contests, and guest posts took more time than I expected. So now I’m lurking deep in the nonfiction cave, busily trying to get caught up on work where I’ve fallen behind. I’m making progress, but that’s why it’s been a little quiet around here.
I’ve read a number of really good books lately that I’m eager to talk about here, so as sooon as I catch my breath I’ll post some book recommendations. Stay tuned!
Don’t miss my interview and giveaway at Bitten by Books today. You could enter to win an Amazon.com gift card worth either $80 or $20. Come by and say hello or ask a question for your chance to win. The event starts at 1 p.m. Eastern time, and I’ll be popping in and out today and tomorrow morning to answer questions.
The Penguin USA blog is a busy place, with multiple posts each day on a variety of subjects as broad as the publisher’s list. So I thought I’d make it easy if you want to find my guests posts. Here are some direct links:
