I’ve got two great giveaways going on this week to wrap up my Bloodstone blog tour.
At Paranormal Haven, you can read about trick-or-treat night in my neighborhood (it’s the biggest night of the year!) and enter to win a signed book and this “wicked” mug filled with candy. This giveaway is international!
At The Bookish Brunette, I’m part of Team Zombie in the Trick or Treat for Books event, so I had to share my favorite tips for avoiding a zombie attack while trick-or-treating. The giveaway there (U.S. only) is for a signed book and a bottle of glittery, green-and-gold Zombie Zest nail polish.
Treats with no tricks–what better way to celebrate Halloween? See you there!
Today I’ll be in Albany, NY to help with the LASTSFA (that’s the Latham-Albany-Schenectady-Troy Science Fiction Association) writers workshop. I’ll be facilitating workshops on “Ancient Mythology and Contemporary Fantasy” and “Show, Don’t Tell: Using the Emotional Filter.” I’ll also be participating in two panel discussions: “Publishing: What Is Right for Me?” and “A Reader’s Responsibility: How to Keep Your Favorite Authors on the Shelves.” The all-day workshop runs from 10 to 4 at the Best Western Sovereign Hotel on Western Avenue in Albany and costs $40 (includes a High Tea) at the door.
If you can’t make it to Albany, you can still enter my giveaway at Romancing the Book. The prize is a bloodstone pendant (like the one Aunt Mab wears in Bloodstone) and a signed copy of the book. It’s open internationally, so everyone can enter. Entry details here.
Throughout August, Dark Faerie Tales and Tynga’s Reviews are featuring Fantastic Fables with a paranormal twist. Authors have contributed stories and posts in which one of their characters is immersed in the world of a fairy tale.
If you haven’t yet checked out this event, you should. The variety of stories and approaches is fascinating. Some authors have their characters interacting with those from the fairy tale, others retell a story by setting it in their characters’ world. Still others show a character’s take on a fairy tale theme.
Today, it’s Vicky’s turn. In “Zombie Cinderella,” she helps Tina get to a family party–only to find the family doesn’t want Tina there. What happens next is the stuff (modern) fairy tales are made of.
To read “Zombie Cinderella” and enter for a chance to win a signed book of your choice from my Deadtown series, visit Dark Faerie Tales.
BabsBookBistro recently gave my mystery Peace, Love, and Murder an enthusiastic review. When Babs asked if I’d stop by her site for an interview, I was delighted to say yes. And I’m even more delighted to give away not one, not two, but THREE signed books—one of each novel I currently have in print.
So if you’d like to win a signed copy of Peace, Love, and Murder; Deadtown; or Hellforged—or if you’re just curious to find out what my favorite ice cream is—come over to BabsBookBistro. I’ll be popping in and out all day. (Mmmm, ice cream…)
Larissa’s Bookish Life and Paranormal Haven have gotten together to celebrate summer. As part of their Bookish Haven Summer Vacation event, I’ve written a short story set in Deadtown’s world. In “Sea Glass,” Vicky and Tina take an impromptu side trip to Revere Beach and find themselves in the middle of a war between merfolk and a sea dragon. Check out the story to see what happens!
I’m also giving away a pair of handcrafted silver earrings made with sea glass, pictured below. The giveaway is international; see my post on Larissa’s site for details on how to enter. And happy summer!
As part of the one-year blogoversary celebration at Book Lovers, Inc., Tina from my Deadtown series has agreed to stop by and write a review of Hellforged. You can read her thoughts here. While you’re there, enter to win a $25 Amazon gift card.
You’ve got until 11:59 p.m. CST tonight to enter to win a $75 Amazon gift card in my Bitten by Books giveaway. Take the quiz, find out what kind of personal demon could be bedeviling you, and leave a comment to enter. This is the last big prize I’ll be giving away on my blog tour (my promotion budget is beyond shot), so why not try for it?
Also, remember that great photo of my featured author display at World’s Biggest Bookstore from my last post? The interview that accompanies the display is now online. You can read it here.
Have a great weekend!
