I’ve got two great giveaways going on this week to wrap up my Bloodstone blog tour.
At Paranormal Haven, you can read about trick-or-treat night in my neighborhood (it’s the biggest night of the year!) and enter to win a signed book and this “wicked” mug filled with candy. This giveaway is international!
At The Bookish Brunette, I’m part of Team Zombie in the Trick or Treat for Books event, so I had to share my favorite tips for avoiding a zombie attack while trick-or-treating. The giveaway there (U.S. only) is for a signed book and a bottle of glittery, green-and-gold Zombie Zest nail polish.
Treats with no tricks–what better way to celebrate Halloween? See you there!
. . . so how come you never see zombies at the beach? (Well, okay, except in this Zombie Beach Party video.) In today’s post at Dark Central Station, I share a few reasons why zombies avoid the beach.
Also, there’s a new interview with me at Ginger Nuts of Horror, in which we discuss upstate vs. downstate New York, cabbages, and the letter U. Check it out here!
Tina, Deadtown’s favorite zombie, is writing her memoirs. She may be only 18, but she’s been through a lot, getting zombified and learning about demon fighting and all.
As part of their Zombie Week celebration, Paperback Dolls have posted “Waking up Dead,” an excerpt from Tina’s memoirs. Leave a comment describing a time you had a rude awakening, and you can win a prize pack including a signed book and a Zombie Girl Sex Kitten necklace. (Yes, you read that right. What can I say? Tina picked it out.)
ETA: I wrote this post kinda late last night and realized this morning that I wasn’t clear about how to enter the giveaway. Please go to Paperback Dolls (click the “Waking up Dead” link above) and leave your comment describing a rude awakening there. They’re running the contest and will pick the winner. Sorry for the confusion!

For my Tuesday post at Dark Central Station, I pulled up an old guest post I wrote last year on what to do if you get attacked by zombies while trick-or-treating.
Safety tips are always important, of course, but even more important is the chance to WIN A FREE BOOK! Read and comment on my DCS post, and you can win a signed copy or either Deadtown or Hellforged—your choice. (Just so you know: Deadtown is available now, but it’ll be several weeks before I get my copies of Hellforged.)
Tina, Deadtown’s favorite teenage zombie, is making a second appearance at vvb32 Reads. This time, she interviews me. Check it out here.
And if you haven’t yet read Deadtown, the September Zombies event is a great chance to win a copy. Details on the site.
The calendar has flipped a page, and it’s Zombie September at vvb32 Reads.
Watch for news flashes featuring your favorite (and most terrifying) zombies.
There’ll be an interview with Deadtown’s Tina, and a chance to win a copy of Deadtown, but the whole month is shaping up to be a lot of fun. Check it out!
ETA: Tina’s interview is now up. Check it out here. If you’ve got a question for Tina, leave a comment and she’ll answer it.
Caitlin has proclaimed August Zombie Month at her blog, Vision Quest Fail. I’ve got a guest post up, and I’m holding a contest there, as well. In the post, I talk about why I put zombies in Deadtown. But what you really want to hear about is the contest, right? Here are the details:
When Deadtown released last December, Publisher’s Weekly wrote that the book “would be a great beach read if it weren’t coming out in the middle of winter.” Seasons change, and now that we’re in the middle of summer, I thought it would be fun to do a Great Beach Read giveaway. Here’s what you can win:
- A signed copy of Deadtown
- A beach towel
- A sun hat
- Hibiscus straws for your fave tropical drink
- A beach bag to hold it all
Just stop by and leave a comment about your favorite kind of beach read for a chance to win. (U.S. and Canadian residents only—sorry if you live elsewhere, but postage costs are prohibitive.) Hope to see you there!
